"Another Chained Melones Protest," a newspaper story from the Sonora Union Democrat

Linda Cloud committing civil (dis)obedience, to protest filling of the upper Stanislaus River canyon – she was later arrested and taken away after chaining herself to a tree.  This was after a U.S. District Court in February 1982 issued a ruling halting filling while other legal procedures were taking place.
