"Stanislaus River" song by Rick Byars, audio file

The widely played song about the Stanislaus River, written by Rick Byars www.rickbyars.com. It was played publicly for the first time a major Sacramento Capitol river rally in 1977. Rick, a long-time ARTA guide, describes the way it came together: “I had the chorus for a long time, but I just couldn’t get any verses. So I went down the Stan and sat by the river at Chinese camp, watching the river flow by. Within 20 minutes, I had all the verses, so I like to think that the Stan wrote the verses…” An image of just the words is here .
