The precursor to the Stanislaus River Musuem was the Visual History Project, started in 1980 as part of the CETA program of Calaveras County, whose purpose was to hire unemployed youth to document the history of Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties. Richard Anderson of Pendola Ranch fame was the individual who created this program. Seen here is Martin Blake, documenting Yankee Hill stamp mills, with photographer Michael Harami.
