Clearcutting area near New Melones Dam

The Stanislaus Canyon clearcuting before inundation, March, 1981. This is the result of the massive clearcutting along the entire canyon, from Melones to above Parrott’s Ferry – which was also subjected to civil disobedience protests from those trying to save the river, as part of it was against State law.
