FOR 2013 Event Honoring Stanislaus River Heroes – part 2 (Graciella Rossi)

Friends of the River’s 2013 (the 40th anniversary of FOR!)  California River Awards annual benefit and auction honored the Stanislaus campaigners who helped found the environmental group. It was held that year at San Francisco’s Presidio, on Oct 16, 2013.  This segment features Graciella Rossi, one of the “founding daughters” of Friends of the River, who pays tribute to her sister river runners and the birth of the save-the-river movement with this prose poem, illustrated by archival photos of California’s Stanislaus River in the 1970s (a related poem is here).
