Jacqueline Smithson, Fred Dennis and friends in basket boat

Jacqueline, rowing, was one of the first women river guides on the Stanislaus in 1972; Fred was one of the co-founders of etc with Mark Dubois and Ron Coldwell at about the same time. Fred and Jacqueline became life long partners and now live in Columbia, next to the Stanislaus. Their friend Diane is in the front at left and Jacqueline’s grandmother and her sister (in the back) are behind her.
