Protest in 1980 in Los Angeles against filling New Melones

FOR had a very active chapter in Los Angeles – here, members and others parade with signs in front of the Los Angeles Federal Building, urging Interior Secretary Cecil Andrus to stop the filling of New Melones Dam.  On the far left of the photo is Tim Matheson, one of the stars of the movie, Animal House, who helped FOR with a couple of events in Los Angeles.  On the right, carrying the Parrott’s Ferry sign is FOR staffer and activist extraordinaire, Linda Cloud.  Needs ID for others in this photo, and the story behind it.
