Protesting federal Stanislaus Canyon clearcutting policy

River activists mounted a campaign during 1981 against the clear-cutting of the Stanislaus River canyon, in preparation for flooding the river. The road into the cutting area above Parrott’s Ferry was blocked on February 2, resulting in three (peaceful) arrests.
