Location: Sacramento
Status: Live River
Date: August 28, 1978
Description:

In the August 1978, a pilgrimage was made from the Stanislaus River to the State Capitol, to carry and then to plant right outside Governor Jerry Brown’s office window a young Toyon tree, during a Stanislaus River Day rally. The full experience and a wonderful poem written during the trip is here. This images shows the Capitol office of the governor in the background, with the planted tree right in front of the person filming.
