Part 3 of an October, 2023 interview with the longtime scientist, river and environmental activist and government official Jerry Meral, here talking about his early work with the Sierra Club on water policy and New Melones Dam, how they developed a set of alternatives to the dam, and how that led to him joining the Environmental Defense Fund (its Berkeley office) and starting work on both legal and political fronts (including the first big petition drive).  He then talks about the origins of Friends of the River (FOR) during the early 1970s, including how he got the inspiration for  Proposition 17 in 1973.  See all four videos in this interview.
