Sean was the son of ARTA’s David Kay, a legendary campaigner for the Stanislaus River during the 1970s and co-founder of Friends of the River. Sean followed in his father’s footsteps by later taking on a strategy for operating the New Melones Dam so that the river would not remain flooded. Tragically, Sean passed away suddenly in 2020 .
