ARTA trip – "Blackie" the 2.5 ton cabover trip truck

Sequence from a 1971 ARTA trip – Blackie was the much-used and mostly-beloved 2.5 ton cabover truck used to ferry gear and people on the Stanislaus and even on the Tuolumne rivers. On one occasion, guides stacked up five inflated rafts in the back and placed a rowing frame on top, attached oars and “rowed” down the road near Angels Camp! Quite a sight and definitely not in accord with current-day laws…
