Upstream of the powerhouse are some of the homes of the town of Stanislaus. It took 3 men to run the plant and, working 8 hour shifts, 6 other men for the 24 hour operation. Some chose to live ther with their family so the little community grew mostly on the Tuolumne Co. side of the River..
