Chicken Falls – Flooded and the way it was, two views in 1980
Description:
The two views from just a few feet below Chicken Falls show the river just after the huge 1980 flood which backed up well beyond Parrott’s Ferry, and then about six months later, when the flood waters had receded. The bottom images shows how the river’s vegetation could recover from occasional flooding, which would have been the case had filling of the dam had been held to Parrott’s Ferry, except during occasional high-flood needs.
