Devil’s Staircase Rapid – wrong way, right way

The top photo shows what often happened dropping into the first big wave at Devil’s Staircase Rapid – Kris Cadagan, with her husband Jerry in back, gets the nose of her raft a bit right on the entry and the slower water  pulls her sideways to the great wave train that follows the drop. In the bottom photo, the paddle raft guide gets it just right, with a fun ride all the way down the wave train.
