Getting reading during April 1975 river trip

Top – classic view of a private trip using basket boats (painted with silver “Gaco” paint and featuring some modified and needed tie downs) but loaded well. Note the cutoff shorts on the guide in the middle – standard river wear back then!  Bottom – a kayak decked out with stickers from 1974’s Proposition 17 initiative to save the Stanislaus River.  Redbud trees at Camp Nine are just starting to bloom.
