Janet and Brian Malo flipped in Rock Garden, then flipped again Suspension Bridge rapid (immediately after this photo) in the flood of January 1980. The second flipped separated them; Janet was able to get to shore, whereas Brian was not picked up from the river until over three miles later, near Razorback. See more accounts of this flood here .
