Linda Cloud chained and protesting illegal flooding in March 1982

FOR staffer Linda Cloud, chained to a tree at Parrott’s Ferry to protest filling of the upper Stanislaus River canyon – she was later arrested and taken away.  This was after a U.S. District Court in February 1982 issued a ruling halting filling while other legal procedures were taking place. Filling had advanced as far as Duck Bar, just four miles from complete inundation.  Second person needs ID.
