Lower Razorback Rapid in high water in 1963

Great photo by Ty Childress of one of Bryce Whitmore’s (Wilderness Waterways) military surplus basket boats headed downstream in the big waves at Lower Razorback Rapid – Ray Dressear (sp) is the guide in this raft.  Ty was a passenger in another raft rowed by Johnny Litton, whose father, Martin (later of Grand Canyon Dory fame) was rowing a boat with Ty’s father in it.  The photo was used on the cover of Motorland Magazine, the publication of the American Auto Association (AAA).
