Marty McDonnell started guiding for Bryce Whitmore and his Wilderness Waterways rafting company  in 1965, after years as a kayaker.  In 1972, he took over the company from Bryce and renamed it Sierra Mac River Trips – one of the oldest rafting companies in the West now. Learn more about Marty, who played central roles in the Stanislaus campaign and the (very successful!) campaign to make the Tuolumne River Wild & Scenic, as well as pioneering a variety of rafting firsts.
