Press release announcing Linda Cloud chaining herself in protest to flooding the Stanislaus canyon

Linda Cloud’s press release announcing and explaining her dramatic protest on March 8, 1982 against illegal filling of the upper Stanislaus River canyon. In February 1982, a federal court of appeals held that no further flooding of the canyon could occur until a related case was decided – but filling was continuing, rising as far as Duck Bar, just four miles from complete inundation. After chaining herself to a tree at Parrott’s Ferry she was arrested and taken away.
