Row for the River gets to San Francisco
Row for the River was an event involving a week of paddling from Camp 9 to San Francisco’s Aquatic Park (near the FOR San Francisco office at Fort Mason). The event was to show support for Proposition 17, on the November 1974 ballot, and made front page coverage in the the Sunday edition of the San Francisco Chronicle/Examiner. This photo includes most of those who paddled the full 175 miles, plus others. Includes, at left: Steve Luke (crutches), In front: Marty Booth, Dave Westphal, Larry (Frito) Jacobson (bending over behind), Robin Magneson (Center), Keith Ulisse (helmet), Jay Power (red lifejacket/top), down in front is Ron Hoffman (neckerchief) or Richard O’Toole (somewhere)? – further over to right kneeling are Don Ahlert, Elizabeth Black. The back row needs ID. Greg Ross, bus driver back upper right in headgear, below him with black necklace is Ty Childress. Jennifer Jennings and Johnny Evans are (right side of photo?). Others might be: Dave Cook, Taylor Carey, Sue Sortman, Mindy Lewis, KB (Ken) Lewis, Dean Garrison, Kathy Meyer, Kathryn McHenry, Jan Komoroff, John Cassidy (not in?).
