Article reporting on final expenditure totals for Proposition 17 in the November 1974 election. Pro-dam interests spent $430,000, while Prop. 17 supporters spent much less – $246,000. Over half the pro-dam funds came from three large contractors working on New Melones Dam, particularly the Guy Atkinson Company.  (Check on whether Prop 17 support included the initiative campaign).
