This is the first Camp Nine crossing in 1907.  Both the road and first bridge were built by Slovenian immigrants in the early 1900s for the Stanislaus Electric Power Company to facilitate access to the original Stanislaus Powerhouse. The Nine refers to the nine mile distance from Parrott’s Ferry Road down to the old powerhouse.
