Outstanding view of Chicken Falls Rapid, looking downstream towards Parrott’s Ferry

The unusual view in this April 1979 image of Chicken Falls Rapid, with fairly high water, shows the entire rapid very clearly. The big hole (the falls) is on the left side of the image – those who “chickened out” ran to the right of it.  Bonus point: in this image, in the center, you can see a kayaker out of his boat, having turned over in the rapid and being unable to roll up – the good news for that person is that the river is pretty calm below Chicken and rafts are ready to help if needed.
