Wilderness Waterways basket boat in Chinese Dogleg in 1965

Classic shot of the early commercial (and private!) basket boats – military surplus air/sea rescue rafts converted to river running by adding a frame. In the 1970s, frames and gear loads allowed passengers to ride more comfortably, but sitting down low on the front floor of this Wilderness Waterways (Bryce Whitmore’s company) raft doesn’t seem to be affecting the fun at all!
