Proposition 13 campaign flyer

The California Water Protection Council was the umbrella sponsor of the Proposition 13 initiative, a broad pro-conservation water policy measure that would also have protected the Stanislaus River. Proposition 13 was on the November 2, 1982 statewide general election ballot in California as an initiated state statute, where it was defeated by a wide margin, its proponents badly outspent by water interests.
