Description:
A packet of items in relation to Governor Reagan’s 1969 “Conference on California’s Changing Environment”, to which FOR co-founder and ARTA communications director David Kay was invited to present. The packet includes the conference program, CA Parks Director William Penn Mott’s invitation letter, David Kay’s remarks at the “Reactor” Panel, Jerry Meral’s remarks at the same panel, and more information about the conference. This was one of the first instances of public arguments for river conservation, with both David and Jerry making clear the importance of free-flowing rivers.
