Voice of a River video – Earth Day 2021 remembrance by Mark Dubois
Released on Earth Day 2021, this short film (11 mins.) tells the remarkable story of the man who risked his life to save a river he loved – for a week, Mark Dubois became America’s most wanted man when he chained himself to a rock in California’s Stanislaus River canyon in May 1979. “The Voice of a River” demonstrates how one person’s actions can make lasting positive change. As executive producer Jarvis Smith says, ‘We hope The Voice of a River will ignite a sense of passion in all who see it, and demonstrate that one person has the power to make a huge difference to our planet. Every individual has a unique set of skills and passions; if, like Mark, we chose to dedicate those gifts to mitigating the climate crisis, our global community would change the course of the future.’ The video was created by Carlos Gonzalez of Illumiret Productions.
